Summer inspired infused water
Everyone is talking about flavoured waters! I don’t mean the mass manufactures ‘healthy’ waters that are sugar packed or loaded with artificial sugars and flavours. It seems as though every drink company is trying to blind us with this ‘healthy idea’ when really they are no different than other soft drinks. This summer don’t waste your money on manufactured waters that give you nothing but a sugar rush, try infusing some water with different flavoured fruits and even herbs. Different combinations can create a refreshing, thirst-quenching drink over summer.
You can pretty much use any fruit and herb combination to make your summer waters. Get inventive and serve them in mason jars, water infusers or a plain glass jug. The colours look amazing so anything clear adds colour to your table.
Here are some combinations I absolutely LOVE;
Watermelon & Sage
Pineapple & Mint
Orange, Lemon & Lime
What to do…
Depending on the size of your jar/jug, add the flavours to the jar and lightly crush with the back of a wooden spoon (do not pulverize). Fill with ice and top up with water. Store in the fridge for at least an hour before drinking. The longer you leave it the stronger the flavour.
